About the Module
This module aims to equip you with a broad understanding of the web and its related technologies. Completion of this module will allow you to create basic HTML web pages and give you a firm grounding in other more advanced web languages such as PHP and JavaScript.
Topics covered
This module aims to cover the following areas:
- The HTML language
- Client-side scripting languages e.g. JavaScript
- Server-side program languages e.g. PHP
- Java applets
- The XML language
Assesments
This module is assessed through both coursework and an exam.
Duration
This module commences in the Universities second semester beginning 4th February 2008. It consists of two hours of lectures and two hours of practical per week and runs for fifteen weeks, the last three being revision and exams.
